Recycle your vapes at our HRCs â™»
Did you know vapes contain batteries hidden within them? When single-use or rechargeable vapes are binned or incorrectly disposed of, they can get damaged in bin lorries or at recycling centres and start fires. 🔥 Also, hidden within their plastic and aluminium casings, vapes contain a range of precious materials - including lithium. These precious materials are lost forever if vapes are discarded or thrown in the bin.
You are now able to bring any vapes to any of our 5 HRCs to be recycled safely. Whether they are rechargeable or single use, we can recycle them. Simply bring them along to your next pre-booked visit and ask a member of staff to help you when you get to site.
It's never been easier to recycle your coffee pods! ☕
Did you know you can now recycle metal or plastic coffee pods at our 5 HRCs? If you use both types, it's important to keep them separate, as our sites have a seperate container for each sort. Like the food waste collected at the kerbside, the coffee grounds are sent for Anaerobic Digestion to create energy, while the metal and plastic casings are recycled to make something new.
Plan ahead with our online site maps
We've made it even easier for residents to plan their visits by producing a map for each of our sites. The maps are a great way to find all the bins you need in advance of your visit, so you can pack your car based on what needs to be unloaded first, helping to make your next trip fuss-free. Wingmoor Farm HRC (Bishops Cleeve)
Think before you tip
Following refurbishment of the site last year, Wingmoor Farm is the latest HRC to offer a reuse shop. Along with Oak Quarry and Fosse Cross, this means three of our sites can now accept limited donations of unwanted, good-quality items for resale, all helping to reduce waste. If you would like to donate an item or make a purchase (cash payments only), please speak to a member of site staff. Examples of suitable donations:
📚Books
💿DVDs and CDs
🔲Pictures and frames
âš½Bric-a-brac
The shops cannot accept any electrical appliances, baby equipment or children's toys. Please dispose of these in the appropriate recycling bin.
Don't forget you need to book!
Just a reminder that everyone visiting our Household Recycling Centres must pre-book. You can book on the same day as your visit (subject to availability), but you will not be let in without a booking, so don't get caught out!
It's also important to turn up during your 30-minute time slot. Sticking to your slot allows us to keep queues to a minimum and manage materials and recycling on site. Visitors turning up outside of their allocated time run the risk of being turned away.
